Frequently asked questions

How MeasureTrace works in the field and office.

Answers about offline work, cloud plans, team access, industry configurations, exports, and connected business workflows.

Does MeasureTrace work without internet?

Yes. Field projects, photos, measurements, and notes can be saved locally. Cloud synchronization and photo transfer occur when the user chooses to synchronize or when entitled automation is enabled.

What is included in the free plan?

The Free plan includes one user on one device, up to three active projects, local photo storage, measurements, annotations, one industry configuration plus General Use, and local backup/export tools.

What happens when I reach the free project limit?

Existing projects remain accessible. Archive or delete an active project to create another, or upgrade to a paid plan.

Are photos uploaded automatically?

Not by default. Manual photo upload is available on cloud plans. Automatic photo upload is controlled separately by the organization entitlement and user policy.

Can I use MeasureTrace on multiple devices?

Multiple-device cloud access is part of Pro and higher plans. Free work remains on the device unless exported through a local backup.

Can the office see measurements taken in the field?

Yes, after the project is synchronized. Authorized office users can review the same photos, measurements, notes, and project structure.

Can office staff make changes?

Authorized users can update allowed project information. Revisions and conflicts are handled explicitly so safety-critical measurement changes are not silently overwritten.

Can measurements be used in another platform?

Approved data can be exported in structured formats such as CSV or JSON. Destination-specific connectors and APIs can map data into calculators, estimating, quoting, project, or proprietary systems.

Can MeasureTrace calculate square footage?

The platform can provide approved dimensions to a calculation workflow. Industry templates and connected calculators can use those values for area, material, waste, labor, or pricing formulas.

Who owns work created by an employee?

Project data created inside a company workspace belongs to the organization. The employee remains listed as the author for audit purposes but loses access when membership ends.

What happens when an employee leaves?

The company can suspend or remove the membership and revoke organization sessions. Server access stops, and the organization workspace is locked or purged from the employee device after authorization is checked.

Can I change industry configurations?

Yes. The configuration can change future terminology and templates while existing project labels and source data remain preserved.

What happens if I cancel a paid plan?

The final cancellation and retention policy will be published before checkout. Existing data should remain exportable during the defined retention period, while paid cloud features and new uploads may stop.

Will there be Android and iPhone apps?

The web platform is being designed for mobile packaging. Store availability, device requirements, and native features will be published when the mobile builds enter beta.

Measurement accuracy

Does MeasureTrace automatically calculate real dimensions from a photo?

No. MeasureTrace records measurements entered by the field professional and places them in visual context on the photo. It does not claim to derive reliable pricing-critical dimensions automatically from uncalibrated pixels.
